In line with our CSR programme, we offered employment to special needs workers and a few of them have been with us for nearly 5 years. AEGIS SDS will continue to provide equal opportunities to suitable candidates for specific roles.
On 30th December 2017, all AEGIS SDS staff were invited to dine in at Excapade Sushi Restaurant. The annual lunch is a company tradition held at every end of the year to celebrate accomplishments made during the year. In the event, awards for performance, improvement, long service and leadership were given to staff to show the company’s appreciation for their loyalty and hard work.
On 30th December 2017, the company conducted the second and final fire drill of the year. The biannual exercise is meant to maintain alertness and readiness of the staff to respond to fire emergencies. The drill was conducted twice with the first being a normal drill and the second having two new scenarios added to simulate real fire event. The fire drill was led by trained and certified fire wardens who ensured a smooth evacuation of the premises to the assembly point.
On the 19th December, 2017, staff from AEGIS SDS along with members of AEGIS Secure Solutions and Sphere Secure Services attended for the 2-day First Aid course. The course aims to equip the staff with knowledge and skills to provide first aid care in the event of incidents. The course concluded with written and practical assessments in which all participants from SDS passed, adding 7 new certified First Aid providers to the existing 23 within the company.
5 staff from Aegis Secure Solutions and Sphere Secure Services, along with staff from Aegis Secure Data Solutions had attended BasicPlus CPR, AED and First Aid for Adults, which was conducted by Joffren Omar Company Sdn Bhd. The course, lead by Kevin Chong, ran from 19 until 20 December 2017.
The aim is to have staff trained and certified as the first respondance to administer first aid until the paramedic or ambulance came to the scene. First aid helps in preserving life, preventing further illness or injury, and promotes recovery. Trained first aiders are taught how to do a high quality Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), how to address both conscious and unconscious casualties, the correct usage of Automated External Defibrillation (AED), control of bleeding, and any sudden illness that may happen. By the end of the course, participants went through both written test and practical examination, which reinforce their learning.
