AEGIS Secure Solutions Sdn Bhd has reached a milestone this year, celebrating 20 years of business. The celebration to commemorate this occasion is being held on 1st September from 7pm to 1030pm at Tarindak D’Seni. AEGIS has invited customers, supporters and business partners who have been part of our success. Our Guest of Honour is Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Dr. Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew bin Abdullah, Minister of Finance II.
The programme for the night includes the launching of AEGIS’s first ever corporate video, speeches by Director Ahmad Isa and Country Manager Jorge Vega, cake cutting, Long Service Awards for employees, and skit shows performed by AEGIS staff demonstrating the cash and guarding services.
AEGIS commenced trading in 1998 as Securicor Sdn Bhd, a joint venture between AEGIS Sdn Bhd and Jardine Securico and was one of the first security companies to be licensed in Brunei. AEGIS’s founding directors are Ahmad Isa, Musa Adinin, Sulaiman Ahai and Ahmad Morshidi. Since then the company has gone through several name changes – G4S Security Services in 2006, and G4S Secure Solutions in 2010. In 2016 G4S sold its shares to the local shareholder and we became AEGIS Secure Solutions Sdn Bhd – a 100% locally owned company.
AEGIS Secure Solutions Sdn Bhd is the only company in Brunei offering an end-to-end cash service involving the secure collection and distribution of banknotes and coins (Cash in Transit), cash processing and vaulting, and full ATM management services utilizing armoured vehicles and state-of-the-art protection devices. We are also the only private security company providing K9 services. Other services include Manned Security Services (security guards), and Electronic Security Services (Alarm monitoring, CCTV installation and maintenance, access control devices). We also have a close working relationship with Jino Motors Korea for the provision of anti-riot equipment such as water vehicles for law enforcement.
On 26th August 2018, 10 SDS staff did a 5 kilometre jungle trial hike at the Bukit Udal area in Tutong. The trail covers several terrains of different elevations. During the hike, the team gets to learn and pick up new knowledge and skills on jungle trekking and craft from the local guide. They were shown how to identify edible vegetation for survival in the jungle.
AEGIS SDS encourages its staff to participate in healthy outdoor activities during the weekend to gain exposure, build courage and independence which are among the basic essential leadership development qualities.
In August 2018, two more staff were selected to be included in the 5th batch of Supervisory Trainee Programme. These two candidates will undergo a 12-month on-the-job training in all the different operational aspects within the company.
AEGIS SDS will continue to develop its human capital for future leadership and to equip them with necessary supervisory skills for succession planning.
