Participation in World Postal Day 2019 Vendor Exhibit

On 30th November 2019, ASDS was invited as a vendor to hold an exhibition for Brunei’s International World Postal Day Celebration held at Star Lodge Jerudong. Present as the guest of honor was Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Abdul Mutalib Bin Pehin Orang Kaya Dato Paduka Haji Muhammad Yusof, Minister of Transport and Infocommunication.

Apart from being an appreciation celebration for our local postal service, the event also served as technology showcase to explore areas where new technologies can be adopted to improve and transform postal services as a whole in line with the current age of Industrial Revolution 4.0.

Records Management & Organization Service

In November 2019, ASDS was provided with an opportunity to assist a client in sorting out their records for a more effective records management. ASDS provides manpower and other requirements tailored to meet the business needs of its clients.

Basic Plus CPR, AED & First Aid Course

On the 7th to 8th October , staff from ASDS, AEGIS Secure Solutions and Sphere Secure Services attended a 2-day first aid course. During the course, candidates are taught to evaluate and respond to situations where immediate first aid is needed.

Candidates are also taught various skills such as proper CPR techniques, use of AEDs, how to place patients in a state of recovery until medical care arrives and other best practices and preventative measures such as the right way to get rid of gloves after use. This course aims to equip staff with the knowledge and skills to provide emergency care in the event of an emergency.

International Council on Archives Annual Conference, Adelaide, October 2019 – Designing the Archive

From 21st to 25th October 2019, ASDS’ General Manager attended the ICA Annual Conference held in Adelaide, South Australia. The event was a joint conference with the Australian Association of Archivists, the Archives & Records Association of New Zealand and ICA’s Regional Pacific Branch (PARBICA).

The conference theme, Designing the Archive is about putting people at the centre of what the association does to provide opportunity to explore how data and information managers, records managers and archivists can use human-centred design approaches to ensure delivery of benefits to citizens, customers, stakeholders and communities.

More than 500 attendees from worldwide attended the conference the five-day conference. The attendees visited many historical venues in Adelaide during the event including the Adelaide State Library which held a special exhibition for their 100th year anniversary celebration.

Blood Donation Drive: Give Blood, Save Lives.

On the 28th October 2019, AEGIS Secure Solutions Sdn Bhd organized a blood donation drive in collaboration with Jerudong Park Medical Centre (JPMC) at their Main Office in Bandar Seri Begawan.

The aim of the blood donation drive is to help replenish the blood bank supply and to give back to the community, as well as to create more awareness to the staff members.

This year marked the third blood donation drive conducted by AEGIS as part of it continues corporate social responsibilities (CSR) effort.

AEGIS will continue this life saving mission in the hopes that with this will set an example to other upstanding members of the community and to serve as a reminder that every effort, no matter how small, helps.

AEGIS conveyed its appreciation to the donors of this blood donation drive and in making the event a successful and memorable one.
